Alas, I am Joan of Arc

I know I should be dead chuffed about this... like she was pretty godly and all.. but I really wanted to be Boudicca!!! (I think I didn't score high enough on revenge!!) You scored as Joan of Arc . I am Joan of Arc. I have a strong faith in God. I am not afraid to challenge conventions or to put myself in a dangerous position to protect my country. I fight for what I believe in. Some people have called me crazy. Joan of Arc 92% Xena, Warrior Princess 92% Cleopatra 79% Elizabeth I 79% Boudicca 75% Which Female Heroine Are You? created with QuizFarm.com Try it!!!

What in the world?

I know I'm a bit of a conspiracy theorist but is it not just a tad weird that in three weeks the Lib Dems have pretty much fallen apart.. Its in a lot of interests to maintain the UK as a two party system and this debacle may just stop the LDs from holding a balance of power..

In tribute...

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, Silence the pianos and with muffled drum Bring out the box set, let the mourners come. Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead Scribbling subtitles, the message It Is Dead, Put crepe bows round the last DVD you saw, Let the viewer remember then one where Josh swore. It was my North, my South, my East and West (Wing), My working week and my Sunday rest, My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song; I thought the wing would last for ever; I was wrong. The stars are not wanted now: put out every one; Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun; Pour away the coffee and sweep up the wood, For TV now can ever come to any good. RIP The West Wing

Praying lots

We're having a prayer week this week: with some healing rooms stuff in it too! Am quite excited: but also challenged by my need to really get down and into some serious prayer. Watch this space..

Birthday from Da Hood!

Yo homies! It happened.. my birthday surprise was a very coll (and a tad bling) evening! Thanks to all involved, from the financial contributors to the baby sitters (for me; Kate had to make sure I didn't get too bad birthday trauma!), to the planners, to my partner in crime!! So here's what happened. I went (with Kate) to the cafe of the National Film Theatre. I was very perplexed as to whom I was going to meet (everyone was either out of London or in my bad books so I thought).. and there was Alex!! Now, you need to understand that Alex and I have a good long history of birthday celebration (a notable weekend in Prague being the highpoint.. till now!) Over champagne he revealed our destination.. the oh-so-bling premiere of GET RICH OR DIE TRYING! So we toddled off to Leicester Square, ate frozen yoghurt and then swanned down the red carpet (would love to say that flash bulbs were popping all over but alas no!). A little wait and a few words from "50" and we we

I'm Yoda.. I'm yoda

There is something wrong with me... this has made my day I might just go and wreck it now by seeing what OC character I am! (now come on Kate.. you know you wanna try that one!)

One day more!

Well its all happening tomorrow.. The birthday surprise that is... Intrigue is giving way to fear (I do trust you I do!).. and black tie is apparently giving way to casual.. hmmm.. what could it be!!! Will keep you posted! UPDATE If you want to come say hi, we'll (apprently) be in Mezza's Bar (100 Wardour Street, London) about 9.30 tomorrow night. Probably best only to come if you know me.. no offence but..

Oh the Intrigue!!!!!!

I am SO excited! Its my birthday at the end of the month and my wonderful (I think) friends have a plan up their little sleevesies! All I know is that I have to be in London next Tuesday at 6pm.. in little black dress! You can't possibly imagine how cool this is.. why, well a) Rach and Luce (and maybe Flan) are the co- conspirators.. and I totally trust them (well the girls anyway! *smiles*).. and they know that I get birthday trauma... b) they all know me so well that it must be something really fitting c) Its a TOTAL surprise.. I am really hard to surprise and I think they have pulled it off d) I feel totally totally loved that my friends are putting lots of creative energy into doing something that will really bless me! (maybe thats why I like autumn!!) Watch this space.. and NO GUESSING.. If I'm not allowed then neither are you!!!!

Yawwwwnnnnnnn

I'm sleepy! Felt very naughty last night as I stayed up way way past my bed time. I'd preached at church (pretty well if I may say so!).. and needed to hang out after, so we toddled off to the pub for a bit of food and some decent company. Accompanied by Kate (who I need to add had just watched an ENTIRE series of Twin Peaks, and was therefore in a very bizarre mood!), I headed home for tea. Ali joined us, and Krister (friend from Swden staying before an early flight back!), headed for a few hours kip. Alas when he woke up to leave at 4.20.. we were still chatting! Was very good catch up time for which I'm very grateful.. but am now VERY tired! And can't leave for another wee while.. Yawwwwwwwnnnnnnnn...

The Boys Done Good..

OK, so we threw away a two goal lead. So we weren't fit enough (in teh cardio vascular sense of the word!), but you have to admit that Luton put up the best showing in the third round. Sitting on a very precarious stool in a slightly dodgy East End pub I was thrilled, impressed and a little depressed as teh game went on... Well done fellas...

Nostalgia

Today is going to be one heck of a day. For a start some of our City Boiler room community plus some friends from Wandsworth are prayer walking in the Square Mile. Should be great! (that said all prayer welcome, I need all the prayer cover I can muster). But what I really want to talk about are the nostalgic moments I've had in the last 24 hour. First up was walking into the Easy Cinema in Milton Keynes... its what used to be The Point: one of the first ever multiplexes.. and a place where I spent some of my latter teens. The point was the place where we would all go as soon as we could drive! Oh the happy memories (and slight sick feeling came back- I used to be really quite shy so it made me feel sick.. last night it was the semi nauseous ending to the Family Stone!) But- also in nostalgia territory is a certain event happening at 5.30 this evening. I still bear the vocal scars of its previous incarnation... yes.. its LUTON versus Liverpool in the FA Cup third round. Th

This Year I Resolve....

I was thinking about what New year's resolutions to go for this year.. and I got a bit stuck. I managed NONE of last year's.. It was tempting to do nothing.. but actually I think what I want to do this year is (drum roll........) FINISH THINGS I'm one of those people who likes new things, and it means that I can leave all kinds of things a bit ragged when I get bored of them. Its a real deal and affects everything from what gets binned from my fridge to what gets binned from my diary. So this year I resolve to finish things.. In the light of that I am going to finish the 100 books.. (i'm up to 71 I think!) And Ali.. no more having to moan for the wasted fruit!!!

For One Night Only!

Happy New Year Life has just hit my radar screen again, so am spending the day in the hinterworld. Replying to emails and making calls but all in my pyjamas! One of the things that has hit is that I'm speaking at church (St. Mary's Luton) on Sunday evening (6.30pm), on the film Finding Neverland. I'm really excited about it; I love the film and am relishing the chance to talk about art and justice and story telling! So.. you're all invited! See you there! Bless you loads
